Writing Throwbacks | “Just Dracula and Me”
Cleaning through the old family books and files at my parent’s house a few years ago, my mom came across a bunch of my old stories I wrote in the early to mid 90s. I plan to present these stories in their original glory, with no added punctuation or corrected spelling or grammar. This is the first in what I hope to be a fun tradition, and serve to remind that all authors have to start somewhere 🙂
I figured this one would be perfect for Halloween! This is supposed to be a conversation between me and Dracula, and I definitely had the writing bug, but I hadn’t mastered the art of indenting, new paragraphs or quotation marks.

Just Dracula and Me

Hello, I am Dracula and welcome to my home. I am allowed to take you for a tour in Bleek house. Will this be scary? Oh no, it will be fun. Well…OK! Then come with me. First I will show you the grave yard. Aaa who’s he? That’s Frank. Oh. Now get to bed Frank. What’s next? The house itself. Wow! Now here is the entry. It looks like nothing’s here. Oh there’s more. What? Invisible ghosts. What’s next? Let’s go up. Fine. Meow! Oh, sorry kitty. Boo! Boo! Boo! Boo! Boo! Meow! Meow! Eeek. Who are they? They are…Batty, Jack, Jiggle, Gobby, Fluffy, Stuffy and Bill. Wow what a lot of scary guys! To the top floor. Now the people here are Molly, Croky, Bally and Jasmine, the fortune teller. Can I go home now? Oh my! It is late. Now close your eyes…Mean while…Hey I’m in bed! What a dream, I got to have so much fun. I will write it down for school and that’s exactly what I did.
