The Dead Time

And my brain hath shut down šŸ˜€ I don’t want to touch the darn second draft until I get it back and can start on the next (and hopefully final) round of editing. I’ve even tried writing a bit of Book 2, but what I have just doesn’t feel right. I have ideas for other stories, so I jot down my thoughts, but my brain can’t hold more than one comprehensive world at a time! So I know I should finish the world of Thoglan stories before I move on to exploring other places.

But the website thing is still a little maddening (in all senses of the word and its root). Because of a bit of complicated web domain finagling, I need more tools (aka more money to GET said tools) to get things organized the way I want. I won’t bore you all talking about details, but frankly it’s driving me nuts if I think about it for too long. I don’t know when I’ll have a chance to dedicate time to it, but it will happen eventually, hopefully.

I’ve also run out of steam for writing topic entries b/c of my job. I have ideas for videos but I’m a perfectionist, so I don’t know when the next one will come out. *Sigh* The dead time in between is always hardest, between drafts, way past conception but not yet published. It’s enough to drive a girl mad, I say!

So here I putt, putt, putt along, getting through the day, trying to do Book 2 prep or jotting down a new story idea for another series. I can’t even take a “real” break from writing, but it definitely isn’t all-consuming at the moment. I’m just stoking the creative hearth a little now and then when I can, even if I don’t get it up to a blaze. I guess, to make sure that I haven’t lost the spark. *thinks* No. Poetic, but that’s silly. I do it because I love it šŸ™‚
