2021
- Finished or made good progress on some handmade gifts, and made myself a chatelaine to wear around the house.
- Finished setting up the studio! YAY! All that’s left is cosmetic stuff and better organizing, so it’s essentially done.
- Made and sold some Christmas and fairy door jewelry
- Found an editing service for my book, thought I would have my manuscript ready for an editor by November, but moved my deadline to April 2022
- Made lots of merch for my Etsy shop out in my studio, and sold lots of it in the Dragon Con vendor’s hall for the first time (I wrote about it in the September Fly-By Status Report)
- Made the studio space workable!
- Harvested blueberries and grape tomatoes from my garden
- Kept on keepin’ on with Draft 7, made it to Chapter 11 by the summer
- Learned how to use two and four-prong lucets (that I bought on Etsy)
- Visited Tiny Doors ATL’s studio space, and saw a tiny heart lanyard gift I left at one of the doors hung up in their tiny museum with other little gifts they’d received! See it here.
- Posted some photos of miniatures/my dolls on Instagram and created another Etsy shop for handmade miniatures (coming hopefully soon)
- Made a post about my Temperature/Weather Tracking wall hanging WIP
- Began work on my art studio house, hopefully, will be moving a lot of supplies out there and setting it up over the next few months
- Made shrinky dink Japanese conversation heart jewelry for my Etsy Shop
- Tried a couple new techniques: painting on glass, and metal stamping
2020
- Edited my book up through Chapter 8
- Spun my first 2-ply yarn!
- Took some mini photos for Autumn, Halloween and Christmas, and posted to My Minlandia Instagram
- Learned how to needlefelt and tried my hand at weaving
- Finished blocking (for the first time) some knitting projects for presents and for myself!
- Sold a bunch of products from my Etsy Shop through Eventeny in Dragon Con’s virtual dealer’s hall! Also created a shop Instagram and Facebook page
- Started learning how to drop-spin my own yarn!
- Wrote an article for Sarah Shott’s “Quaranzine’, which then became my May-June Fly-By Status report!
- Started growing herbs and micro-greens inside
- Finished some crafted gifts for friends and family that got put off or took a while
- Began making miniatures, and started taking photos of my dolls to post on the @myminlandia Instagram
- I made some crochet wig caps for my Hujoo BJDs, with help from My Froggy Stuff videos on Doll Hair Extensions and a Crochet Wig Cap, and part of the yarn weft-making video by Mozekyto.
- Started playing my ukulele during worship at my church! I sing throughout, but I play here, here, and here.
- Made some COVID masks with crochet and microfiber towel liners for family and friends
- Started selling hair clips on my Etsy shop
- Recorded a video to participate in the Eric Whitacre 6th Virtual Choir, and the compiled choir video debuted on Youtube, July 19th
- Started building two 1:6 scale dollhouses
- Organized my craft supplies and craft room
- Posted the January-March Fly-By Status blog post!
- Did my first pop-up shop for my craft business at my church’s women’s retreat and actually sold a few things! Also debuted my newbie ubass skills with the worship team that same weekend
2019
- Finished a long-time project, a custom filet crochet wall hanging for a local business
- Posted some miniature photos on Instagram, like The Rabbitson kitchen, and Santa Lucia, alongside some handmade miniature lussekatur buns, and a walnut basket with wildflowers
- After Thanksgiving, started redecorating my dollhouse and prepared for taking some miniature photos.
- Succeeded in completing Inktober, which helped me practice my watercolor pencil technique, and wrote a blog post about it!
- Posted the September/October Fly-By Status blog post!
- Went to the Atlanta Miniature Society Show, got some business cards, got inspired and bought a few things
- Took a bunch of Skillshare classes, and starting making Giphy stickers for Instagram, and trying some water color painting
- Starting back up with piano, and started learning u-bass
- Met Aaron Mahnke at the Lore Podcast Live!
- Finished pulling together our Wayne & Garth Dragon Con costume. Also made some dekora kei and pastel goth-style bracelets for Dragon Con Swag’N’Seek. Also also went to an Epbot fans meetup, and got to see Jen & John!
- Making more fun types of jewelry, including a paid gig to make bottle cap earrings for a local business to sell!
- Update my freelance business’ name from “Sunlit Nook Solutions” to “Sunlit Nook Creative” to reflect a wider range of my skills.
- Posted an extra blog post about my new accountability plan!
- Posted the May Fly-By Status blog post!
- Finished revamping my Artwork page
- Got supplies for working on calligraphy & illumination-style artwork
- Got supplies for learning tatting & needle felting, and perler beads
- Started learning to needle tat!
